Our plantings include over 225 varieties of modern and heirloom apples, plus dozens of other fruits and berries, many in danger of extinction and unavailable in the commercial nursery trade. It takes years of patience to collect these fruits, raise them in the nursery, transplant to the orchard, and press and ferment. We’re now eleven years into this project, ready to share our knowledge and harvests in small-batch ciders available only at our farm tasting room.

We started 25 years ago making wine for ourselves and 15 years later created some for everyone else to enjoy. Along the way, Bruce built a 26’ trimaran, Karen learned to sail, we got married so Bruce could get health insurance to start Tree Spirits, added spirits, subLimes, and sanitizer to our offerings, added space to our tasting room, sold our house, moved into an apartment, traded the tri for a 37′ cabin cruiser (much more comfortable but not as fast), and have welcomed Harvest Host travelers to stay the night. We still have fun making wines, meeting new people, spending time on the water and drinking. Come visit!

In 1999 after a day of wine tasting in Mudgee, a wine town in New South Wales Australia, we watched a local winery family celebrate their patriarch’s birthday. We had enjoyed their winery earlier in the day and now here were multiple generations celebrating at the same restaurant we were eating at. That night inspired a vision, for us to create the same experience back in Maine, a vineyard and winery, a restaurant and special event place and mostly to be a winery family too. In 2017 we began that quest. We hope you are able to enjoy your day and evenings with us with your friends and family. Thank you for sharing in our vision, Brenda and Tony
