Free things to do in NYC

Despite popular belief, NYC doesn't have to be expensive! In fact, there are tons of very cool, free things to do. This is a round of up of my top recs. #seekerchallenge

  This otherwise expensive museum is free on Fridays from 4-8pm. It's also in the perfect location to enjoy dinner or a night on the town afterward.

  Get a close up of the Statue of Liberty, without having to pay the $12 fee! The Staten Island ferry is free every day and you get a sweeping view of Lady Liberty.

  This scenic island is so close, yet feels so far, for the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. The ferry is free on Saturdays and Sundays before noon, and once you get there, you can hike, bike, or splurge on mini golf.

  For something a bit different, check out a museum all about clothes and fashion, featuring student designs, as well as creations from some of the top names in the business. It's open Tuesday-Saturday and always free.

  This old railway systems has been converted into a park, featuring beautiful natural spaces and art displays. It's a very unique view of NYC and weekend access is free.

  Staten Island has its own personality and is worth a visit. After you take the free ferry to the island to waive at the Statue of Liberty, stay and check out the zoo, which is free on Wednesday afternoons.
