Best Festival Races

Danielle Call

This spring and summer I am most looking forward to getting outside and experiencing some of the most fun races that end in a celebration! I love a good road race especially when the finish line is filled with food trucks and beer tents! These are some of the most fun races I've done or are planning to do!

City Park Festival Grounds, Orange City Tulip Festival, Boothbay Harbor Fest, Maine Lobster Festival, Boilermaker Road Race Corporate Office, Smuttynose Brewing Company

  • City Park Festival Grounds in New Orleans, United States

The City Park Festival Grounds is New Orleans' home of the Big Easy Running Festival! Weave your way through the city in a half marathon or 5K, then take it easy and relax once you've passed the finish line and enjoy the party! It is New Orleans after all so why wouldn't you celebrate your race!?

  • Orange City Tulip Festival, United States

This road race is part of a different kind of festival, located in Orange City, Iowa. After you participate in the races (if you want) you can check out some of the parades, shows, craft fairs, food tents, and windmills, yes windmills, that help make up this festival.

  • Boothbay Harbor Fest in Maine, United States

The Boothbay Harborfest is a great festival to help you explore the best of what Boothbay has to offer. With a half marathon (that I did in 2019) and a 5k for you to run along the rocky coast, the rest of the weekend features tastings from all the different local restaurants on the shore.

  • Maine Lobster Festival in Maine, United States

The Maine Lobster Festival is definitely something I want to participate in! They have different race options that include a 10k, 5k, fun run for the kiddos, or a walk for those that just want to take their time on the course. Fun fact: over 20,000 pounds of lobster are served throughout this now 5 day long event!

  • Boilermaker Road Race Corporate Office in New York, United States

Alright, the Boilermaker Road Race has been on my list for quite a while, but I've been too nervous to sign up for it! This race is a 15K through Utica, NY that is sponsored by Saranac Brewing Company. Once you've completed your 10 miles you're met at the finish line by cheering viewers, a finisher medal, and a cold Saranac brew. You've earned it!

  • Smuttynose Brewing Company, United States

Each summer Smuttynose hosts the "Will Run For Beer 5k" in Hampton, NH. This route is a quick and easy one through the local neighborhood where you might even see some horses wandering in the pasture that you run by. The finish line is filled with food trucks and a beer tent with different Smuttynose brews waiting for you!
