  If you find your foot tapping along to the beat of New Orleans Street jazz, then this is a must for you! It is set in the old U.S. Mint and is packed full of history and has so much to offer. They have musical performances and interactive displays that give you a deeper look into the sound of Nola. Open Tuesday-Sunday from 9-4 and closed for special events so make sure to call ahead then dance your way down there and enjoy the Jazz!

You won't be disappointed when you see the indoor and outdoor areas designated just for fun! Inside the museum you will find the kid-friendly restaurant Acorn that is a perfect way to end the visit. They are open Wednesdays-Sundays, and you must purchase your tickets online.

  This is the hidden gem of Nola that not many tourists know about. It is the work of Ms. Leona Tate who is one of the four original children to Desegregate public schools in the U.S. She created this museum to show the world what it is like to live in Nola's Lower 9th Ward. They are closed on Mondays and open from 12-5 on all other days. It is definitely worth the time to stop by and see for yourself.

  This small 2 room Museum in the heart of Nola is a great place to start when it comes to the history of the town. Geared towards informing the public about the history of Voodoo it is popular among tourist and even offers walking tours and readings for those who want to go one step further into the past of Nola. I have personally spoke with the museum and they encourage you to bring your kids and learn the history of what started this beautiful town. Open 10-6 p.m. seven days a week.

If you have a curiosity or are simply morbid this is a great place to go. From letters written by serial killers to body bags this place definitely won't disappoint. This museum is geared towards preserving the drink and food culture of the South and even offers private cooking classes for all ages! This piece of history is open to the public Thursday-Monday from 11-5 p.m. and excepts the Go NOLA pass!

  This is a must-see for everyone no matter their passions. I have been to this museum several times over the years and always find something new. From the history of it housing Louisiana's first pharmacist to old southern remedies it's always a great time. Due to all the history that is enclosed in this building it has special hours of operation and is open Wednesday-Saturday for only a few hrs. per day. Be sure to call ahead or check the website for up-to-date times.
