The view from the terrace here is the main draw, it is nestled right in amongst the city’s skyline. Once you get used to the view you’ll start to realise the top class service, cool vibes and quality music. Also great for food if peckish.

This is a small bar which is hidden away within Foxgloves (a speakeasy itself), so don’t be surprised if you don’t see it because people will point you in the right direction if you ask for Franks’ Library. This small speakeasy is ideal for intimate chats and stunning cocktails. If you’re with that special someone then head here.

Located on Hollywood road, The Dispensary is right in the middle of the action. You’ll get a good view because it’s on top of the old Central Police Headquarters. There’s outdoor seating which is ideal when the weather is good. I like to be there for happy hour before heading out for dinner - there are restaurants on either side of it if you want something convenient.

If you like tiki bars then you’ll love Honi Honi. They serve up fantastic polynesian rum cocktails but I just loved having a beer and enjoying the surroundings. There’s nothing pretentious here about the bar, so without trying too hard they’ve created something uber cool. Nice outdoor seating too.

When a bar is hidden away in what looks like a stamp shop you know it’s going to be pretty cool inside. Mrs Pound’s speakeasy doesn’t disappoint. It offers great value for money with cocktails costing around $12 (might not seem too cheap but it’s good for HK). Really fun food menu too with lots of surprises, I promise you’ll end up ordering a lot because it all sounds so good….cheeseburger spring rolls anyone?

It can get hot in HK so the best way to cool down is with a large G&T. Be prepared to part with a bit of cash here, but don’t worry because you get what you pay for. It’s seen as a secret bar because it looks like a Doctor’s surgery. As you’d imagine there is a huge selection of gin, I could spend all night sampling them.

I can admit that some HK locals might be surprised to see this bar in the list, it’s not as classy as the others but it is cool. There aren’t many bars out there as unique and dramatic as Itron Fairies. It’s the creation of designer Ashley Sutton. Look up and you’ll see 10,000 butterflies dangling from the ceiling. They often have great live music and boutique guest beers.

As far as views go, Ozone bar towers above the rest. You’ll find it on the 118th floor of the Ritz Carlton which is the tallest building in the city. The boats below in Victoria harbour are minute and on a clear day you can see for miles. Great for some pictures and a tasty cocktail.
