This is one of our (and Finn's) favorite places to come for lunch in the summer. Sebago Brewing is dog friendly out on their side patio. They also have corn hole and a nice fire pit if you wanted to spend the evening out there. They have a nice variety of beers and seasonal offerings in the summer. I recommend the Simmer Down session ale with the Bavarian soft pretzels and IPA honey mustard!

Mast Landing is a relatively new Portland Maine Brewery and has been growing fast! They specialize in New England style craft beers, and have even added private igloos that you can reserve for your tasting! They also recently opened their own food truck that is always on property so you can get a great pretzel, or if you're feeling fancy, a creamy vegetable risotto to pair with your beer!

We just learned about Lone Pine Brewing but I'm adding it here again because there are more to Maine breweries than you can find in Portland. The Gorham location is not far from Portland, but offers a little more outdoor space, and is a great option if you want to bring your dog with you for an afternoon out!

I like to think of this Maine Brewery as taking a cue from Back to the Future (Twin Pines Mall to Lone Pine Mall anyone?) but I don't think thats what they were going for here. Small in-house made craft beers, this location is a great place to come on the weekend to relax with one of their unique offerings like the Raspberry Sparkler, or try one of their seasonal beers like the Holy Donut Coffee Cake Imperial Stout. What a mouthful!

  • Nonesuch River Brewing in Maine, United States

A beautiful brewery and restaurant located just outside of Portland, Nonesuch River Brewing elevates the craft brew scene in Maine by pairing it with upscale restaurant offerings. This would be a great date night option to taste some of their local craft beers, paired with local Maine produce while you sit on the deck and enjoy the views.

Located right on the water, you can grab a seat on the deck and enjoy a Sea Dog brew while watching the boats on the river. The main Sea Dog brewery is located up in Bangor, so unless you're planning an epic Maine road trip, you can taste all of the Sea Dog offerings here grab a bite to eat, and even play a few frames! This location was transformed from an old bowling alley in Portland!

A trip to Portland wouldn't be complete with out a visit to the Shipyard! Family owned and operated, this brewery has become a Maine staple. Depending on when you visit you might be lucky enough to taste test some of their pilot beers that haven't even hit the market yet!

Just across the street from Allagash Brewing Company, you will find Foundation Brewing. Take a tour or grab a seat on their outdoor patio to enjoy a beautiful Maine summer day. Be sure to try one of their funky signature brews like Guava's My Jam, a sour ale (not my style) or the Triple Berry Jam which is fermented with, you guessed it, raspberries, blackberries, and cranberries!

Allagash is one of the most well known Maine breweries so you know it won't disappoint! They have a super cool outdoor bar where you can grab a pint or a flight, and a beautiful pergola covered garden area where you can sit and enjoy your brew. Take a tour of the brewery for a break between flights, or grab one of the lobster rolls at the food truck onsite!
