The Ghibli Museum was created to celebrate all things Studio Ghibli: memorabilia from Howl’s Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, Castle in the Sky, and more. The indoor exhibits showcase the animation and creative process of Hayao Miyazaki, providing true insight into the careful details and thought put into every masterpiece. While the museum may seem like it skews towards a younger audience, don’t you worry: there’s something for everyone on Ghibli Museum’s playful grounds.
Pro Tip: It can be tricky getting tickets to the Ghibli Museum. You can either order the tickets 3 months in advance online overseas (here’s a guide), or purchase tickets at any Lawsons in Tokyo on the 10th of the month prior to the month you intend to visit the museum.

The fairytale world of Studio Ghibli is for you to explore first-hand at the famous Studio Ghibli Museum. Located within the vast grounds of Inokashira Park, this museum features all things Studio Ghibli, including major hits such as My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle. The museum offers a combination of a children’s museum, technology museum, and fine arts museum — one of the best art museums in Tokyo. There are several replicas of movie characters and objects, such as the iconic Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro, to snap Insta pics with.

The Ghibli Museum in Mitaka is on the grounds of Inokashira Park near Kichijoji Station. The museum itself is created for the world of Ghibli; memorabilia from Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, Castle in the Sky, and more world-famous films all decorate every corner of this beautiful museum. With exhibits showing the animation and creative process of Hayao Miyazaki, at this famous museum, you can get a true insight into the careful details and thought put into every masterpiece. Ghibli is truly a beloved animation company on a world scale and it is highly recommended that you visit this museum while in Tokyo. The museum cafe is also very delicious and worth any line.
