Visit Mesa Tapped Into Beer Week with a City-Wide Check-In Challenge
Visit Mesa turned its first-ever Mesa Beer Week into a city-wide Pints & Pairings Check-In Challenge built on Seeker XP, sending visitors and locals to 12 breweries, taprooms, hotel bars, and a casino across downtown Mesa, Arizona for curated beer-and-food pairings. Every check-in moved participants closer to a shot at winning a Copper State Beer Festival prize package, turning a ten-day craft beer crawl into the kickoff for the city’s biggest beer event of the year.
Overview
Visit Mesa built the Pints & Pairings Check-In Challenge to give its inaugural Mesa Beer Week a digital backbone. Running November 21 to 30, 2025, the pass sent participants to 12 stops, from Phantom Fox Beer Co. and Chupacabra Taproom to We-Ko-Pa Casino and the DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix Mesa, each pouring a hand-curated beer paired with a local bite. One check-in earned an entry to win a Copper State Beer Festival getaway. Five check-ins unlocked a 10% ticket discount, giving every stop a reason to keep moving toward the city’s January festival.

About Visit Mesa
Visit Mesa is the destination marketing organization for Mesa, the third largest city in Arizona. The DMO promotes the city across leisure travel, sports tourism, and meetings, and Mesa is recognized as the nation’s first Autism Certified City.
Mesa’s downtown craft beverage scene has grown fast. The Copper State Beer Festival, now in its fifth year, draws over 110 craft beverages from 90 breweries and 25 wineries, cideries, and spirits makers to Riverview Park each January. Mesa Beer Week was built to ride that momentum into a pre-festival moment of its own.
Visit Mesa chose Seeker XP to turn a list of recommended pairings into a trackable, gamified pass, giving the DMO first-party data on which businesses actually got visited rather than just which ones got named in a press release.
How it Worked
Participants joined the Pints & Pairings Check-In Challenge through a digital pass at explore.visitmesa.com. Each check-in used geolocation to confirm participants had actually arrived at the stop, no codes to scan or redeem. From there, they worked through a list of 12 participating locations, each with its own curated beer-and-food pairing recommended by the Visit Mesa team. Locations included:
- Phantom Fox Beer Co.
- Chupacabra Taproom
- Goldwater Brewing Co. Longbow
- We-Ko-Pa Casino
- Delta Hotels Phoenix-Mesa
One check-in earned an entry into the prize drawing. Five check-ins unlocked a Copper State Beer Festival ticket discount, and with 12 stops on the pass, most participants found a clear path to the higher tier.
