Seeker

Worldwide

As the largest tree in the world in terms of volume, General Sherman stands 275 feet tall, is over 36 feet in diameter at its base, and is estimated to be over 2.5 million pounds. This famous sequoia has been thriving for an estimated 3200 years in the Southern Sierra Nevada Mountains of California and is one of the top attractions in Sequoia National Park.

General Sherman is located in the Giant Forest of Sequoia National Park on Congress Trail, a paved loop within a short walk from the parking lot, making this main attraction accessible for visitors of all ages. General Sherman’s neighbors aren’t too shabby either. Sequoia and neighboring Kings Canyon National Parks are home to several famous trees. In fact, 6 of the top 10 largest sequoias in the world are located there.
