Anoka *is* the Halloween capital of the USA, the first city in the country to have a Halloween celebration way back in 1920, and since has worn this title with pride. There is a massive blinking pumpkin on top of the city hall, and plenty of eclectic events popping up throughout October in what is normally considered a small, off-the-beaten-path Minnesota town.
