While Southwest Stories didn't film here (yet), The Red Dog Saloon has a special place in host Steve Brown's heart. It was closed when Southwest Stories was filming our Pioneertown episode in Season 2, but in Steve's childhood, he would stop in at The Red Dog for a cool sarsaparilla after an afternoon of robbing banks and holding up stagecoaches. It's part of the reason Steve was pulled back here to the hi-desert to live and work, and it is still near and dear to his heart.
