What is the elevation at Sequoia National Park?



Sequoia National Park is in the Southern Sierra Nevada Mountains of California and elevation varies greatly – from 1,300 feet to 14,500 feet at the peak. In the foothills area of Sequoia National Park elevation is around 4000 feet. At the Giant Forest, the location of the General Sherman Tree (the largest tree in the world by volume) and the surrounding area, elevation is between 5000 and 7000 feet. At the pinnacle of the Moro Rock Trail elevation reaches 6,720 feet. Because of this, temperatures at Sequoia National Park can vary greatly, at times, by as much as 20-30 degrees F.
