United States Louisiana New Orleans

The Court of Two Sisters

A historic restaurant known for Creole cuisine, jazz brunches, and a charming courtyard with a storied past and live music.

Tips from the community

Court of Two Sisters is another longtime favorite of mine. Grab a courtyard table if weather permits and go for their three course chef curated menu. This establishment is traditional in all aspects. The menu showcases classic, upscale Louisiana fare and the entire atmosphere emphasizes old school southern hospitality from dishes made tableside to attentive and professional service. If you’re going for a theatrical dining experience, start the night with the Caesar salad and save room for bananas foster, both made tableside.

Turtle Soup: The first time I saw turtle soup at a restaurant, I was skeptical to say the least. Yet when it appeared on the Court of Two Sisters’ tasting menu I knew I had to try it. The roux based stew has an array of unique flavors and only small bits of turtle for the faint of heart (like me). The soup is served with a small pour of sherry wine on top to brighten the flavors.

Court of Two Sisters does a phenomenal Jazz Brunch buffet. Jazz Brunch is exactly what the name implies - an array of classic brunch options accompanied by a live brass band there to serenade the dining experience. Unlike other popular spots, they also serve brunch 7 days a week. Reserve a seat in the courtyard if the weather allows and stay all morning. You won’t find a more fun breakfast in New Orleans.
