Wineries in Livermore with Tasting Rooms

While most people think of Napa or Sonoma for a wine country vacation, California has many other under the radar wine destinations. Just 30 miles east of San Francisco, is Livermore Valley, one of the oldest wine producers in all of California. The town of Livermore is an underrated, charming spot for a weekend getaway, with over 60 wineries to choose from. With its picturesque rolling hills, Livermore Valley offers a beautiful setting for a wine tasting excursion, far away from the crowds of Napa and Sonoma. In addition to its impressive wine scene, Livermore is also known for its rich history and cultural attractions, making it a perfect destination for those looking for a well-rounded vacation experience. Here, I share some of my favorite wineries in Livermore Valley.

  • Concannon Vineyard in Livermore, United States

      Like Wente, Concannon is one of the first wine producers in Livermore Valley and is still one of the largest. The grounds are gorgeous, set around a historic Victorian home, the ideal setting for a picnic while enjoying a glass of their famous Cabernet Sauvignon.

Murrieta's Well is also a popular cozy wedding and small event destination, with beautiful spaces and the perfect size for a gathering at a smaller scale than many of the other wineries.

      As far as Livermore wineries go, Wente is the queen bee. The Wente family was one of the first producers in Livermore Valley and they know what they are doing. The wine is very popular and delicious and tasting room is beautiful and very photogenic. The on-site restaurant is the perfect spot for a date night. And if all that isn't enough, during the summer they hold a concert series featuring popular artists in a gorgeous setting, surrounded by the vineyards.
