Macy’s Herald Square surprisingly didn’t make this list for the floral perfumes forced upon you on entry, but due to the Macy’s Flower Show, which takes place every May. Elaborate floral displays make up most of the main floor and are designed to fit an annual theme. Some past themes have included The Secret Garden, Carnival, and Journey to Paradisos.

Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus. This “miracle” of lights and festive fun is recreated each holiday season via the department store’s windows, which are unveiled on Thanksgiving Day after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
