Once home to Native American hunting grounds, the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge provides habitat to thousands of native animals, plants, and insects. This 15,000-acre preserve is located near Aurora is open to the public. Hike more than 10 miles of trail to discover wildlife including bison, pronghorn deer, black-footed ferrets, and burrowing owls. Visitors are also welcome to drive on the 11-mile wildlife access trial to see animals.
