This museum is dedicated to the artist Salvador Dali in his hometown Figueres, in Catalonia, Spain. Slightly creepy but also interesting is that Dali himself is buried in a crypt below the stage of the museum. This museum was built to fulfill the dream of Dali to have a museum that acts as a giant surrealist object, a labyrinth which people will leave feeling as though they had awoken from a theatrical dream. The museum itself houses the largest collection of Dali's work including works he created specifically for the museum as well as holographic art and a jewelry design. It would be wonderful to enter a space and have my perception of reality altered and questioned by the intense surrealism of Dali's work surrounding me.

Located within his hometown of Figueres, the Dalí Theatre-Museum pays homage to the life and work of legendary Spanish painter Salvador Dalí. Topped with giant eggs and studded with plaster-covered croissants, the castle-like structure is an appropriate tribute to the master of surrealism, whereas inside offers a fascinating mix of weird and wonderful creations, tricks, and illusions. Designed by Dalí himself in the final years of his life, the museum showcases the artist’s unique persona in the charming town where he grew up.
