Located at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains is Dollywood, a theme park owned by country superstar Dolly Parton. Opened in Parton’s hometown of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee in 1986, the 160-acre theme park features rides and country music entertainment. Dollywood is the most popular attraction in Tennessee. Cue the applause.

Visiting the snow-capped Smoky Mountains during Christmas time is enough to get anybody tapping their toes to Christmas music, but a visit to Dolly Parton’s namesake park will have you belting out “Let it Snow” all day long. The entire park is bathed in more than five million twinkling lights and guests can take in seasonal shows, festive food, and holiday shopping.
Expert Tip: Guests who visit on Fridays and Saturdays during the festival will be treated to an all new wintertime fireworks show.
