Doubling Point Lighthouse

A historic beacon established in 1898, guiding maritime navigation at the convergence of the Kennebec and Sasanoa Rivers.

Tips from the community

This adorable lighthouse is a miniature version of Marshall Point (the Forrest Gump lighthouse). It is all the way down a dirt road in what looks like your just driving to someones house. Since it is smaller its not as busy, but there are only spots for three cars in the parking area so go early.

Historic buildings that would guide sailors to the coast from around the world, these are some of Maine's most picturesque lighthouses. From Portland Head Light all the way up to West Quoddy Head Lighthouse in Lubec, you could take a week long road trip to try to see them all!
