If you go to Australia without visiting these places, I'll be disappointed in you
Sarah Lempa
I lived for Australia for 6ish months (although it feels like a lot more) — flying in and out of the country and calling both Cairns and Melbourne home. I can't say I wrestled any crocodiles, but I DID find some freakin' incredible places that will be dear to my heart forever. Pleaseeee save these you won't regret it
Bondi Icebergs POOL in Bondi Beach, Australia
Tallow Beach in Byron Bay, Australia

Byron Bay may be a highly touristed haven for hippies and influencers, but my god, these beaches are where it's at. You gotta go.

Great Barrier Reef in Queensland, Australia

Pretty freakin' obvious reasons for this one. I got scuba certified here! It was amazing and terrifying at the same time

Whitsunday Island in Queensland, Australia
- travelempa
It's funny 'cause it rained the entire time that I was here but REGARDLESS this place is a swirly twirly wonderland of bright blue ocean and white sand. It's a work of art, really

Coogee Beach
- travelempa
TBH I'm not the biggest fan of Sydney, but I really like the coastline. Coogee is chill AF.

Eden

Eden, like its name, might be one of the most heavenly little towns I've ever experienced. Even just typing this I feel like I can smell the ocean and the Aussie wilderness and AH I want to go back

Kosciuszko National Park

Snow in Australia!! Yes, it's real, no, it's not a fever dream. It was so cool to see the Aussie landscape covered in snow.

Daintree Rainforest in Queensland, Australia
- travelempa
So remote, so beautiful. The sounds of the forest here are incredible — and it feels like a million miles from civilization

Peninsula Hot Springs
- travelempa
Ditch Melbourne and bathe in hot springs on a hill instead! You'll forget the crowded trams and trains even exist!

Gunnamatta Ocean Beach
- travelempa
One of the first beaches I went to in Aus, brought there by a local friend. Absolutely incredible waters ugh I'm dying just thinking about them

I never swam in it, but I definitely ate an entire tub of hummus in front of it. Killer view for hummus.
