Hotel Sofitel Moorea Ia Ora Beach Resort

I have mixed feelings on this place. The over-the-water bungalows are perhaps the most beautiful setting of any hotel I've stayed at. The snorkeling is world class - right off the deck of your private abode! That said, the service is absolutely terrible - but not in the rude, offensive sort of way. Actually, everyone is very nice. But the restaurant just can't get it right. Pretty much every meal had errors and omissions. So much so that we just started eating whatever they delivered. And there aren't many other options for eating without driving 15-20 minutes away.

I stayed here! Nobody knew why I, a single woman, was there — but I had all the joys of room service and an overwater bungalow so I didn't really give a hoot. It's definitely a place built for honeymooners and of course, touristy AF, but it's that cliché you have to experience when in islands like these. One night was enough though tbh.
