Scarborough Bluffs are one of the city’s premier summer hotspots. The park along the base offers spectacular views of the jutting cliffs and Lake Ontario, as well as hiking trails, meadows, gardens, forests, and beaches rounding out the outdoor activities. Thrill seekers should head on top to the grassy lookout points for some of Toronto’s most Instagram-friendly photo opportunities. The best part of all? The park is located just 20 minutes away from the downtown core with a plethora of public transit options to get you there.

Near the city limits sits a beautiful escarpment in the suburb of Scarborough.
Bluffers Park offers the best views of these ragged rocks, which shoot 300 feet into the air and span more than nine miles long. It’s a great area for a walk and some photography, with the dramatic peaks and angles shooting out from the water. Be careful, though: the bluffs aren’t exactly stable, which is partly why people tend to keep their distance and appreciate them from afar.
