Futakotamagawa

A vibrant commercial and residential area known for its shopping complex, riverside parks, and upscale ambiance, hosting a variety of events.

Tips from the community

Just a ten-minute train ride from the city center, Nikotama is a bustling "suburb" that feels like a little slice of paradise. Think fun cafes and international restaurants, top-of-the-line shopping, and a gorgeous park surrounding a river that is the site for many festivals throughout the year. With gorgeous architecture, beautiful scenery, and plenty to do and see- Nikotama is an unsuspecting destination that you should consider adding to your Tokyo itinerary.

Futako Tamagawa is just a 15 minutes train ride from Shibuya station, but still offers a breath of fresh air and nature away from central Tokyo, along with a huge mall offering different events and markets every month. At Futako there is a huge park, open space cafes, and boutiques, as well as a beautiful river with an excellent view for late-night drinking with friends.

Futako Tamagawa is one of the most elegant areas in Tokyo. Alongside a beautiful river and plenty of lush green parks, Futako has several luxury malls full of high-end shopping and unique gift stores. I recommend exploring the massive river parks and the surrounding neighborhood which is a breath of fresh air away from central Tokyo.
