Emerald Bay State Park in South Lake Tahoe offers unique and unusual activities that will be favorite experiences for visitors. One can explore the iconic Tea House on Fannette Island, the only known island in Lake Tahoe, reachable by boat or kayak. Another thrilling experience is scuba diving to witness the underwater wreckage of the S.S. Tahoe, a steamship that sank in 1940.

When you pull up to this lookout, you'll see a lineup of other tourist just staring. And for good reason. These views are vivid and rich, with the most beautiful shades of deep blue and vibrant green, and it's easy to get lost in a daydream.

Another one of my favorite spots around Lake Tahoe. Hike down to Vikingsholm, kayak around the emerald colored bay that flows into the lake, trek along the Rubicon Trail. This is a must see spot but gets very busy during the summer and on weekends.
