Grenoble

Grenoble, located in the heart of the French Alps, is one of the most famous ski towns in the world. Known for its world-class ski resorts and stunning mountain landscapes, Grenoble attracts thousands of winter sports enthusiasts every year. Visitors can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and other winter activities in the nearby ski areas, as well as explore the city's rich cultural history and vibrant culinary scene.

I studied abroad for a semester in college in Grenoble so I'd probably count this as my first solo trip. Gorgeous mountains, yummy food, public transit, people from all over.
