Best Outdoor Dinning in Manhattan

Louliana Voelker

New York has now been faced with an outdoor dinning only obligation. During these cold winter months, this may be difficult for restaurants to attract clients. Although many restaurants such as Lafayette or Shoo Shoo Nolita have adapted to these circumstances and made very warm and covid friendly outdoor seating. Here are a couple restaurants with great food and warm outdoor dining that is covid safe.

Pera Soho, Route 66 Smokehouse, The Garret, Raclette, THEP Thai Restaurant, LOULOU, Soogil, Shoo Shoo Nolita, Lafayette Grand Café & Bakery

Pera Soho may have the warmest looking outdoor seating in Manhattan. The food is good Mediterranean food with killer cocktails and an elaborate menu with many things to choose from. Whatever you get here will be delicious because I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. It is also in Soho which is a great place to walk around, do some shopping, and explore.

Raclette is a great restaurant in the lower east side. If you like cheese, this is the restaurant for you. They have many cheese dishes but are specialized in the Raclette which is a dish where you melt the top of the cheese wheel and scrape it on top of potatoes and meat. It is a perfect winter meal and is worth the calories.

Shoo Shoo Nolita has built real wood sheds that are extremely warm and are closed off to other sheds so you are not exposed to anyone else but the people you are dinning with. The cocktails here are good but the spreads are a must get. The baba ghanoush is amazing and the hummus comes nice and warm. The desserts are also delicious here. Another great area in Manhattan as well.

Lafayette has to be one of my family's favorite restaurants in the city. It is in Soho in a really nice area with lots of shops and cute places to eat. It is a French bistro style with great food and spectacular desserts. They have built great little sheds with each their own table with heaters that really work. This is a must place to eat at in general but especially during the cold pandemic months.
