Wonderful Nature Spots in the Philippines

The Philippines is blessed by Mother Nature with an abundance of beautiful spots. From pristine beaches, to enchanting forests, surreal river canyon and amazing fauna. To celebrate Earth Day, here are some of my favorites. #SeekerChallenge

  • UP Academic Oval, Philippines

      If you need to escape from the busy city life in Manila, this is the place to go. The University of the Philippines' campus is a favorite spot of joggers and bikers. The academic oval which is the main thoroughfare is lined with trees.

  • Jomalig Island, Philippines

      It took a 6 hour boat ride to get there but it was worth it. It is an island surrounded with beautiful beaches and little to no crowd.

  • Bulusan Lake, Philippines

      A lake situated beside a volcano. It is surrounded by lush rainforest. You can explore it either by kayaking in the lake or by hiking through its various trails.

  • Balabac, Philippines

      Palawan is a treasure trove of fine white sand beaches, clear blue waters and lagoons surrounded by limestone cliffs but it also so popular that there are so many tourist in the usual places like Coron and El Nido. If you want to experience its beauty without the crowd travel farther south to Balabac.

  • Mount Kitanglad, Philippines

      Hike through the enchanting mossy forest of Mount Kintanglad in Bukidnon. Walking through this forest is like walking into a fantasy world. It is also a home to several rare endemic species of plants and animals.

  • Kayangan Lake, Philippines

      A beautiful freediving spot. Swim and see underwater limestone cliffs through clear blue water.

  • Donsol Whale Shark Interaction Center, Philippines

      During whale shark season, which is from December to May, you'll be able to encounter the largest species of any fish. You can interact with these gentle giants by snorkeling, diving or just waiting for them on the usual spots that they surface.

  • Apo Reef, Philippines

      It is the largest coral reef in the Philippines. It's a popular destination for divers with its vast underwater flora and fauna. Beautiful clear blue water and white sand beach. Visitors can stay overnight in the island but only in tents.

  • Binurong View Point, Philippines

      Watch the sun rise while strolling through these rolling landscape at the edge of a cliff.

  • Chocolate Hills, Philippines

      Green in the rainy season and brown in the summer months, the chocolate hills look like small chocolate mounds from afar. It's a popular tourist destination. You can take the easy road and climb up the view deck to admire the sight, ride through the hills with an atv, or for the more adventurous hike up the hills.

  • Kawasan Canyoneering in Badian, Philippines

      Hiking through this river canyon is such an exciting adventure. You'll have to jump, swim and climb to get through it. Don't forget to admire the surreal view. It will culminate in a 15 meter jump in the blue waters of Kawasan Falls.

  • Sohoton Cove, Philippines
