Places to visit in Buenos Aires, ARG

This a bucket list of places you should include in your visit to Buenos Aires city. Mainly if its your first time there. Let yourself surprise with the beauty and history this city carries with. Before building your checklist I wanna make sure you understand the difference in between Buenos Aires as the city and Buenos Aires as the province. In Argentina, the territory is divided by provinces (like states) and there's a lot of confusion when for example I tell people I am from Buenos Aires. Many people who were lucky enough to visit it, understand I was born in the city. I totally get the confusion, that is why I wanna clarify to you, there's two different Buenos Aires. So this list is about the city itself. Let's explore!

  The city can feel a little overwhelming sometimes, thats why is good to know there's a more natural place where to find some peace and calm. This is a huge reserve where you can ideally rent a bike to move around and get I touch with the local flora and fauna. Oh and get some fresh air as well!

  "Cabildo" is a term historically used for building with political purposes. This was the most important building during the revolution of the population against the Spanish colonies. This where the revolution happened. Nowadays it is a museum, a storyteller itself.

  Quick comparison, this pink building called " Casa Rosada" is like the White House for the U.S. It is the office of the president. Right in front of it, there's three other tourist attractions with tons of history and culture to learn about: "El Cabildo" today's a museum; "Plaza de Mayo" green area used for manifestations or even celebrations for popular reasons; and "Catedral Metropolitana" a historic church from S. XVII.

  Probably the most popular casino in the city, and maybe the country. It is famous not only for the beautiful location itself but for the particular fact it is a floating casino. Give it a chance if you are feeling lucky or even to walk around and appreciate the structure.

  This spot is filled up with culture, history and art. It was a little but busy port in the beginning of its times. It is a outdoor museum itself, colorful and full of life. It gets really busy so try to get there early in the mornin. Also you might be able to attend to tango shows in place.

  Soccer is a popular topic in the daily basis. It is the most played sport in the country. As this is said, you will be able to identify two main soccer teams: River Plate and Boca Juniors. First of all, if you are into soccer, you gotta get your chance to attend to a soccer game. In case you're lucky enough, make sure to check if there's a "Clasico" for the dates you are staying in the city. A "Clasico" is the most popular soccer game in the country which is between these two major teams. You can only imagine how much excitement and euphoria you would breath in such event. I, personally, have always wanted to attend to one of them. It's not easy but neither imposible. Heads up: It is not cheap neither. But it is one of those moments where you will even feel as an Argentinian. Good luck with those tickets! Hope you can make it! Pss one last thing, make sure to cheer up for Boca Juniors ;)

  If you are going to visit Argentina, you gotta know who important soccer is for the majority of the population. Soccer is a real passion and two of the main soccer teams you will hear about the most are: River Plate and Boca Juniors. This one is the house of River Plate, also known as the largest stadium in the country. Here you will be able to attend and experience a soccer game, which is highly recommended if you are into sports, but also concerts. There's a museum right in the same place where you can learn more about this soccer team, and in the end choose which one is more of your preference.

  Yes, this is a cemetery located in a very elegant neighborhood called Recoleta. It is one of the top attractions since it is where you will be able to find graves of well known people such as Eva Duarte de Peron, Luis Federico Leloir, Jose Hernandez, etc. Some of them are politicians, writers, doctors and artists. You will even hear some spooky stories about a spirit that appears once in a while during the night. Grab your coffee and get ready to stroll around this particular place. You will be able to visit on your own or take a tour with a local guide. There are also free guided tours in English at 11am on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  This is one of the main icons of the city. It is also use by locals to manifest or celebrate different events. This white monolith changes colors when it is a special date, either nacional or international matter. It is easy to get there by public transportation since it is located in the middle of this busy city.
